how it works
Congrats, you're expecting!
Once you have reached your second trimester and announced your pregnancy to friends and family, reach out to me to let me know your expected due date. I will only schedule a few newborn sessions per month, so it's important to get on my calendar early!
Pay your session fee.
Once you book your newborn session with a tentative date range, you will pay a non-refundable retainer fee (see investment section below). This fee covers the session time of up to 3 hours and an online, watermarked proof gallery of the best images with light editing. This does NOT include any digitals or prints.
Get on the calendar.
Within 24 hours of delivery, let me know baby has arrived so we can confirm a final date for your newborn session. The optimal time for a healthy delivery is when baby is 5-10 days old. If your delivery had complications, baby was premature, or other hiccups, we will absolutely have a conversation about when is best for photos.
Baby Snuggles!
Your session can take place in my studio, or at your home (for an additional fee). I will provide wraps, baskets, pillows, and all other necessary things for baby to be both cute and comfortable. You are welcome to provide an outfit or additional props, but remember that the more baby's outfit is changed, the less baby will sleep. The session will include a lot of soothing, feeding, diaper changing, swaddling, and yes, of course also some photos! Older siblings and parents are welcome to take part in the session, but the main focus will be on your brand new bundle of joy. :)
Review your proof gallery.
Within a few weeks of the session, you will be sent a proof gallery of the best images with light editing. From here, you can select additional products such as digital downloads and albums. Once these are selected and paid for, the final images will be fully retouched.
Receive your products!
Based on the products purchased, once the final images are done you will receive a gallery link with a download password and/or a proof of your newborn album. Once you approve the album proof, it will be sent to print and shipped directly to your home.
Investment
Session Fees ("Retainer"):
My studio is located in Havre de Grace, MD on a ground floor and is fully equipped with everything I need for your newborn session! Conversely, a session at your home is best if you'd like to feature photos in your nursery or lifestyle photos in your master bedroom. I will require about an 8x8 foot space with plenty of window light to set up for the studio newborn photos. My travel radius for in-home sessions is 30 miles from Havre de Grace.
- At my studio: $150
- At your home: $200
Your non-refundable session fee is paid when you first reserve your session. This fee covers the session time, travel if applicable, all props/wraps that I bring, and your watermarked digital proof gallery. Gentle reminder that digital downloads are NOT included.
Digital Downloads:
Once you receive your proof gallery, you can select favorites which will be fully edited and retouched and then delivered in a separate gallery with a download password. Your downloaded images will be full resolution without any watermarking.
- 10 digital images: $300
- 20 digital images: $450
- 30 digital images: $600
Fine Art Albums
Albums can be purchased in addition to OR instead of digital downloads. Albums contain 20 images and have a genuine leather cover with baby's name and birthdate imprinted on the front.
If downloads were purchased:
- 6x8 album: $300
- 8x11 album: $500 (+ free 8x10 mounted print)
- 11x14 album: $700 (+ free 11x14 mounted print)
If downloads were NOT purchased:
- 6x8 album: $450
- 8x11 album: $650
- 14x11 album: $850
