With HCP's team having so many years of experience, you can rest easy knowing that your memories are being captured by a team of photographers who are well-versed in all sorts of lighting scenarios.

About Sarah

Charm City will always be my home! I was born in Baltimore and raised in the suburbs of Harford and Cecil Counties, and I've settled quite nicely into the adorable town of Bel Air. I'm a huge foodie, was probably a sommelier in another life, and am absolutely addicted to travel.

My parents say they knew when I was twelve years old that I was going to be an entrepreneur. Choosing to study photography in college was an easy decision, but the craving to run my own company followed soon after. I started up High Contrast Photography while I was still in college, and continued to grow the company after I graduated with my associate's degree. Once HCP blossomed, I received my bachelor's degree in Communication Studies.

I have a love affair with people, laughter, and memories. It is perhaps because of this that I was drawn so naturally and powerfully to weddings, and I will tell anyone that I have the best job in the world! The love and the infectious happiness I get to witness at weddings gives me some of the best "warm fuzzies." Natural emotion, giggles, and connection are what fuel my work, and I'd love to capture yours. :)

F.A.Q. for Sarah

What's your "style"?

In general, I consider my photography style to be clean and vibrant, with a beautiful mix of modern and traditional imagery. We use a blend of photojournalistic and posed portraiture to capture your happiest moments in the most efficient and honest way possible.

How many weddings do you do per year?

High Contrast Photography averages around 40 weddings each year. Running HCP is my full-time career, so you can be assured that my attention is directed fully to my clients and not a part-time or "day" job.

Do you work from a shot-list, and can I request photos?

With so many years of experience in the wedding industry, I and the rest of my team of photographers certainly have an extensive flow of photos we typically take at each wedding that in general capture all of the important moments and people of the day. However, every wedding day is different, and we absolutely welcome your input to your specific style to ensure we are capturing what's most important to you.

Do you offer any discounts?

HCP does not provide "off season" or "off peak" discounts, but I am proud and happy to offer a 10% package discount to any couples where either member of the couple is active or reserve U.S. military. Friday and Sunday weddings also enjoy lower minimums to meet for HCP's services.

How do you assign the second shooter to my wedding?

I have a team of excellent "second shooter" photographers that I have personally trained and groomed to capture weddings in HCP's distinct style. They are assigned to weddings based on the wedding location, the personality of the couple, and a variety of other factors.

How do you maintain professionalism in such an exciting atmosphere?

Weddings are obviously a lot of fun for everyone involved - even the vendors! However, we are there to perform a service and this drives our sense of professionalism. HCP photographers are always dressed in black professional attire during the event and refrain from consuming alcohol at the wedding, even if it's offered to us. We also ensure that we are constantly communicating with you, your wedding party, and your other vendors to make the day flow as seamlessly as possible for you.
